POCUS 101

RUHS code team Nurse Point of Care Ultrasound program, one of the only programs in the world, lead by Dr. Haycock in training the medical center code team nurses. This program started a decade ago incorporating the 6 hour sepsis bundle and the autonomous clinical application of specialize trained code RN’s to perform bedside POCUS in collecting IVC, gross cardiac view, and lungs. It has now evolved into what is now the PE response team to collect parasternal long, short and apical 4 view of the heart. Dr. Haycock has trained the code team and given advanced POCUS lectures pertaining to hemodynamics.

Below are wonderful youtube basic POCUS assessments. Click here for Dr. Haycock’s lecture and training.
